The provincial Department of Education and Training held the opening ceremony of the national exam for excellent high school students for the 2024-2025 academic year at the Son La High School for the Gifted on December 24.

The provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation, in collaboration with the Central Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion and Phu Yen district, organized the "Giot hong Phu Yen" (Phu Yen Red Drop) Voluntary Blood Donation Festival on December 23.

The provincial Youth Union on December 22 organised the final round of a history contest for youth union members and young people in Son La province in 2024.

The Youth Committee of the provincial Department of Public Security and the Phu Yen district Youth Union, in collaboration with Truong Chan Sang from the Binh Duong provincial Youth Federation, held the groundbreaking ceremony for the “Beautiful School for Children” project No. 59 at the Suoi O hamlet branch of the Quang Huy Primary School. 

Military units under the provincial Border Guard Command, in collaboration with agencies both inside and outside Son La, on December 19 organized a series of meaningful activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - 2024) and the 35th anniversary of the All-People Defence Festival (December 22, 1989 - 2024).

The Department of Education and Training of Son La city on December 20 organized the opening ceremony of a city-level science and technology competition for secondary school students for the 2024-2025 school year.

Son La city’s police directed the police forces of communes and wards to simultaneously organise firefighting and prevention and rescue skills dissemination and experience programmes for thousands of people, teachers, and students in the city on December 14-15.

The To Hieu Secondary School in Son La city organised a programme on December 16 titled "A day as a soldier" at a unit under the provincial Military Command. The event was to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - 2024) and the 35th anniversary of the All-People Defence Festival (December 22, 1989 - 2024).

Son La Newspaper, along with various organizations and businesses both inside and outside the province, coordinated with Bo Sinh commune to organize the "Xuan yeu thuong" (Spring of Love) programme in Bo Sinh commune, Song Ma district on December 14.

The Van Ho district Division of Education and Training on December 12 concluded the 2024-2025 secondary school science-technology competition, featuring 20 projects from 39 students across 14 local schools.

The Mai Son district People’s Committee held a conference on December 12 to honour organisations and individuals for their outstanding contributions to poverty reduction in 2024 and to outline goals for 2025.

A delegation of the provincial Military Command on December 13 visited and presented gifts to policy beneficiary families and revolution contributors in Son La city on the occasion of the 80th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - 2024) and the 35th anniversary of the All-People Defence Festival (December 22, 1989 - 2024).

The Agricultural Service Centre of Thuan Chau district coordinated with the People’s Committee of Chieng Ngam commune and the Hanoi Agriculture Joint Stock Company I to organise the handover of 67 breeding cows to local households on December 12 as part of the National Target Programme on Sustainable Poverty Reduction in 2024.

The provincial Red Cross Society, in cooperation with the Red Cross Society of Hai Phong city and the Quynh Nhai district Health Center, on December 12 organized a programme offering free medical check-ups, consultations, and medicines for 200 people from poor and near-poor households in Chieng Khoang commune.

Since the beginning of this year, Son La province has directed the continued implementation of a project on building and developing the grassroots healthcare network in the new situation, aiming to consolidate and improve the quality of health care activities at the grassroots level.

The provincial Youth Union on December 9 hosted a forum fostering friendship and opposing school violence at the provincial continuing education centre. The event brought together 370 high school students.

The Son La provincial Youth Union, in collaboration with the Can Tho city Youth Union, is organising the “Can Tho youth with people in Son La’s mountainous areas” journey from December 7-10 in Chieng Khay commune, Quynh Nhai district, in response to the Volunteer Programmes for Winter 2024 and Spring 2025.

Son La city’s police on December 7 organised a training course on fire fighting and prevention and rescue for nearly 140 people from fire prevention and rescue forces at 10 primary schools in the city.

The Pham family from Thanh Hoa province and the Tong family from Son La province on December 7 visited and presented gifts to people in need in Quynh Nhai district.
