The event featured a range of lively activities that attracted a large number of local residents and visitors. It aimed to restore, preserve, and promote the beautiful traditional cultural values of the ethnic groups; to encourage the community in building a cultural life, and expand the cultivation of sticky rice fields.
Additionally, the festival was to enhance the promotion and introduction of the potential and cultural identities of the Muong La district's ethnic groups in general, and the distinctive culture of Ngoc Chien commune in particular. The event sought to attract tourists from both within and outside the province to experience and seek opportunities for investment, exchange, cooperation, development, and deeper integration.
At the closing ceremony, the organising board awarded the first, second, and third prizes to the participating teams across various events at the festival. These events included ngu kin khiet (snake eating frog) and sua kin mu (tiger eating pig) competitions; men’s and women’s football matches; “to yen” competition, art performances; sticky rice cake making, fishing and culinary contests, stilt walking, balance beam walking and traditional costume competitions, and a contest featuring the ethnic costumes and beauty of Ngoc Chien girls.
