The work of promoting education in the northwestern provinces in 2024 was reviewed at a conference held by the Vietnam Association of Promoting Education (VAPE) in Son La province on December 3.

The provincial Women's Union held a ceremony on December 2 to launch a pilot model entitled “Son La women are healthy and beautiful every day” in Son La city. Following the city, the model, gathering women online, is expected to be rolled out across the province.

A ceremony was held in Muong Leo commune, Sop Cop district on December 2 to launch the volunteer programmes for winter 2024 and spring 2025 in Son La province.

The provincial Centre for Disease Control, in collaboration with Tay Bac University, on November 29 organised a workshop on HIV prevention and provision of pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) services for 90 students of the university.

The provincial Women's Union and its chapter in Son La city held a ceremony in the city’s Hua La commune on November 29 to launch the "Women's Union of 5 Have-s, 3 Clean-s" model in Mong hamlet.

The Youth Union of Son La city and the municipal Division of Education and Training, on November 29 co-organized a forum on building a culture of behavior in schools.

The Ho Chi Minh City-based Petrovietnam Transportation Corporation (PVTrans) on November 29 presented gifts to children at Lo Van Gia Kindergarten in Son La city.

The provincial Women's Union, in collaboration with the GREAT 2 project management board, on November 28 opened a training course entitled "Business Incubation" for 19 members and representatives of 14 cooperatives, business groups, and households in Van Ho, Yen Chau, Phu Yen, Bac Yen, and Mai Son districts.

The Vietnam Women's Union, in collaboration with the Vietnam Social Security, organized a conference in Son La city on November 27 to disseminate voluntary social insurance and household health insurance policies for 250 female staff and members from communes and wards across the city.

The Committee for the Advancement of Women in Thuan Chau district on November 27 coordinated with the district Women's Union to organise the “Orange the World” event calling on the public to act together for gender equality, in response to the action month gender equality and gender-based violence prevention and response 2024.

The provincial Department of Education and Training held a conference in Mai Son district on November 24-25 on English teaching at kindergartens in the 2024-2025 school year, bringing together 170 officials, managers, and teachers from 11 districts and Son La city.

The People's Committee of Bac Yen district on November 18 hosted a ceremony to honour teachers and students who gained exceptional achievements during the 2023-2024 academic year.

The Mobile Police Command in collaboration with the provincial Department of Public Security and Phu Yen district authorities on November 18 provided free health checkups and treatment, and medicines for nearly 300 social policy beneficiaries in Muong Thai commune.

The Son La High School for the Gifted on November 18 organised an experiential activity named “The teacher in my heart”, in celebration of the 42nd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (November 20, 1982 - 2024).
