Outstanding families of trade union members, workers, public servants honoured

The provincial Confederation of Labour on June 28 held a conference to commend outstanding families of trade union members, workers and public servants in 2024, and celebrate the 23rd anniversary of the Vietnamese Family Day (June 28, 2001-2024), towards the 95th anniversary of the Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 1929-2024).

June 28 every year is designated as the Vietnamese Family Day. Carrying forward traditional cultural values ​​of the nation, all-level trade unions have organised many activities to celebrate the International Women's Day (March 8), the International Day of Happiness (March 20), the Vietnamese Family Day (June 28), the Action Month for Children, the International Day of the Girl Child and the Vietnamese Women's Day (October 20) through forms such as exchanges, contests, and meetings to praise and reward outstanding families of workers and public servants, and their children who have gained outstanding academic achievements.

At the same time, activities have been held to encourage female trade union members, workers and public servants to respond to the movements under which they try to balance their professional work and personal life, and to study, work and build happy families.

All-level trade unions have paid attention to taking care of their members as well as labourers through special programmes like "Worker's Month" and "Tet Reunion". Each year, from 25 to 30 trade union member families in difficult circumstances are supported to build and repair houses worth nearly 1 billion VND (39,258 USD). Thousands of other disadvantaged trade union members and labourers or those suffering from serious diseases, and children with good academic achievements have also received timely assistance from all-level trade unions.

Such activities have helped trade union members and labourers feel secure in their work and production, thus building prosperous and happy families.

On this occasion, families engaged in a dialogue where they shared experienced in maintaining family happiness and balancing generation gaps to build prosperous, progressive, happy, and civilised families.
