Media campaign promotes gender equality, eliminate gender prejudices, stereotypes in family, community

The Women's Union of Mai Son district organised a communication campaign to promote gender equality and eliminate prejudices and stereotypes in the family and community on June 24 in Chieng Mai commune.

The campaign was to solve urgent problems to women and children; and respond to the National Action Month for Prevention and Control of Domestic Violence, the Action Month for Children, and Vietnamese Family Day (June 28).

It focused on eliminating all forms of discrimination and gender-based violence; creating conditions and opportunities for women and girls to develop equally; building a safe living environment for women and children, changing thinking and working methods associated with socio-economic development and building happy families of ethnic minority women in difficult areas.

It also aimed to improve the quality of communication work on gender equality and gender-related issues in community communication groups and models.
