In February, the provincial Employment Service Center provided consultations on labour, employment, and unemployment insurance policies; and issued 284 decisions on unemployment insurance policies, including 269 on unemployment benefits.

In February, especially during the Lunar New Year holiday, medical facilities in Son La province ensured adequate medical supplies, medicine and necessary equipment to serve emergency cases and organize medical examination and treatment for people.

Moc Chau district on March 6 organised a conference honouring 77 outstanding collectives and individuals in emulation movements in different aspects of the social life.

Since the beginning of 2024, health facilities in Son La province have well organized examination, treatment and emergency; and improved the quality of medical services.

In January, Son La province created jobs and increased income for 1,061 labourers, and supported seven to work abroad for a fixed term.

Women's unions at all levels in Thuan Chau district have maintained 236 self-managed roads and mobilised over 7,000 members and women to clear 21 km of rural roads and plant 26 new flower routes. 

In 2013-2023, Son La province had 1,054 projects of students participating in science and technology competitions at all levels. 

The Education Promotion Association of Son La province in January presented 438 gifts and scholarships worth over 224 million VND (9,169 USD) to students in difficult circumstances and remote areas, with outstanding academic achievements, along with teachers and students who scored high results in competitions.

Son La city’s Traffic Safety Committee held a ceremony at Tay Bac (Northwest) Square on January 29 to launch the Traffic Safety Year 2024.

Son La province’s Federation of Labour, in collaboration with the provincial Post Office, units and businesses, organised booths offering free products and those with attractive discounts for labourers on January 28 in Mai Son district.

The Son La College on January 28 organised a contest to wrap banh chung (square sticky rice cake) and learn about Vietnamese traditional Tet, attracting the participation of seven teams of 70 Lao students learning at the college.
