Winter 2024, spring 2025 volunteer programmes launched

A ceremony was held in Muong Leo commune, Sop Cop district on December 2 to launch the volunteer programmes for winter 2024 and spring 2025 in Son La province.

The programmes will be implemented from December 2024 to the end of February 2025, with activities focusing on "For community health", "For beloved children", and “Sharing with farmers”.

At the ceremony, the provincial Youth Union requested its chapters at all levels to encourage their members and young people to promote the spirit of mutual love, mutual support, and volunteering for the community; actively participate in socio-economic development, ensure security and defence; be ready to take on new and difficult tasks; and strive to excellently complete all assigned missions.

On this occasion, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union presented the "Lighting up the borderline" project worth 125 million VND (5,000 USD) to Muong Leo Border Guard Station. The provincial Youth Union granted breeding goats to 11 poor households; 20 gifts, including warm blankets and necessities, to hamlet elders and heads and poor households in Muong Leo commune; 20 flocks of chickens to children affected by natural disasters; and 30 gifts for students in difficult circumstances. Sop Cop district also gave 10 gifts to prestigious people in the commune. The total funding was over 350 million VND.

Within the framework of the event, the provincial Youth Union and the Muong Leo Border Guard Station offered free haircuts and organised a zero-dong booth to support people in the commune.
