In March, the annual Youth Month, organisations and associations in Son La province implemented 93 activities to visit historical sites with the aim to preserve cultural and historical values. They also held six gatherings with former youth union officials and typical unionists through different periods, along with 54 dissemination activities on the Child Law, and legal documents on child protection and care.

Mai Son district is working to create jobs for 3,257 labourers this year, of them 2,347 under the national target programme on socio-economic development in ethnic minority-inhabited and mountainous areas.

In the first quarter of 2024, Son La province stepped up employment counseling activities and labor market information delivery. In particular, 19 employment counseling conferences and job fairs were organised in Muong La district, with 5,529 workers participating.

Striving to raise forest coverage to 50% by 2025, Phu Yen district has rolled out a plan to grow 300 hectares of forest and 380,000 scattered trees each year.

As part of efforts to streamline administrative procedures, Yen Hung has enhanced the information work to raise the awareness and responsibility of officials and civil servants, and promoted the one-stop-shop mechanism. It has also intensified IT application in management and operations activities.

The Grassroots Culture Department under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in coordination with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Son La province on March 29 evening organised a mobile communications contest on the Dien Bien Phu Victory on the occasion its 70th anniversary (May 7,1954-2024).

Son La province’s Department of Education and Training on March 28 organised a conference to review the provincial-level competition seeking excellent preschool teachers in the 2023-2024 academic year. 

The provincial Party Committee's Board for Information and Education on March 28 coordinated with Brigade 126 of the Navy in organising a conference disseminating information on seas and islands in 2024.

On the occasion of the 93rd founding anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 - 2024), the provincial Youth Union and Youth Federation have coordinated with the Department of Health, the provincial General Hospital and Tay Bac University in organising a blood donation festival at the university.

To welcome Son La city’s inclusion in the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities, the Son La city People's Committee on March 19 held a ceremony to inaugurate the Chieng Le kindergarten’s classroom building.

The Son La provincial Department of Education and Training on March 19 announced the results of the provincial exams to select excellent students at secondary and high school levels for the 2023-2024 academic year.

Last month, all-level one-stop-shop units in Yen Chau district handled 618 administrative applications, with the on-time and ahead-of-schedule completion rate reaching 100%.

Son La province now has eight communes meeting advanced new-style rural standards, including Chieng Xom, Hua La and Chieng Co in Son La city; Chieng Ban in Mai Son district; Chieng Khoang and Chieng Bang in Quynh Nhai district; Muong Sang and Chieng Son in Moc Chau district.

Since 2023, Thuan Chau district has supported the removal of 352 makeshift houses and the repair of 70 houses according to the national target programme on sustainable poverty reduction for the 2021-2025 period.
