375 gifts delivered to disaster-hit residents in Ngoc Chien commune

Nafood Group JSC, based in the central province of Nghe An, on September 15 coordinated with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Muong La district to present gifts to people affected by natural disasters in Ngoc Chien commune.

Due to the impact of typhoon Yagi, Ngoc Chien commune experienced heavy rain, flash floods, and landslides, leaving one person missing and damaging 40 houses. Two spillway piers in Luot hamlet and two suspension bridges were swept away, while Giang Phong bridge was eroded. Landslides occurred at 20 locations on inter-hamlet and intra-hamlet roads; 14 irrigation and eight domestic water works were damaged; and many rice and crop areas were flooded. Total damage is estimated at 8.5 billion VND (346,302 USD).

Sharing the difficulties with the people in flood-hit areas, the charity group presented 375 gifts, including rice, clothes and necessities, to households whose houses and crops were damaged. Total value of the gifts was 250 million VND (10,185 USD), funded by the staff and workers of Nafood Group JSC.
