The Son La Vietnamese Women’s Association – Connecting Women from All Places on October 5 held a gathering to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Women’s Union (October 20, 1930 – 2025). The event was attended by over 120 members from grassroots-level women’s organisations across the province.

The Youth Union of the Ministry of Finance, in coordination with the provincial Youth Union, held a conference on October 5 to popularise the Party’s guidelines and policies on socio-economic development, startups, and business activities or youth in ethnic-inhabited and mountainous areas.

The People’s Committee of Mai Son commune launched the Lifelong Learning Week 2025, themed “Learn to develop yourself, master knowledge and technology, and contribute to building a strong and prosperous nation,” at Mai Son High-Quality Secondary School on October 2.

Heavy rains brought by Typhoon Bualoi between September 28 and 30 caused widespread damage in Son La province, particularly in its eastern and southeastern areas.

On the morning of September 30, although heavy rains still affected Son La province and numerous landslides made travel difficult, Son La Power Company (PC Son La) was determined to dispatch a working team to assist Ha Tinh Power Company in addressing power grid issues caused by Typhoon Bualoi.

Son La College on September 30 held a closing ceremony for the Vietnamese language training course for officials from northern Laos (K15) and Lao students (K23) for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Typhoon Bualoi caused damage to 185 households across 11 residential areas and Dong Sang Kindergarten in Moc Son ward.

Implementing the movement "Digital Literacy for All," Chieng Coi ward has launched a series of practical activities to promote basic digital transformation knowledge and skills among government officials, public servants, employees, and local residents. These efforts aim to accelerate the application of digital technologies in political system management, business operations, and daily life.

Although school violence is not a new issue, it has continued to occur in recent years. In response, authorities at all levels in Son La province have implemented various measures to prevent school violence and promote the development of friendly schools and active students.

The provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment, in collaboration with Binh Minh International Primary, Secondary & High School, on September 26 organised a launching ceremony in response to the “Clean Up the World” Campaign 2025.

Son La Newspaper, Radio and Television, in partnership with the Chieng So communal People’s Committee and The Investor magazine, held a scholarship programme on September 25 to support disadvantaged students in the locality.

The provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism on September 25 opened a training conference on grassroots information activities.

The provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation, in collaboration with the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, organised a Voluntary Blood Donation Day in Moc Chau ward on September 24.

The Rehabilitation Hospital of Son La province on September 23 held a conference to assess the implementation of electronic medical records (EMR).

The Son La provincial Youth Union, in collaboration with the National Volunteer Centre and the “Power of 2,000” Project, on September 22 held the inauguration ceremony for the “Bridge of Happiness” in Cho Cong hamlet, Phieng Cam commune.

The Son La provincial Youth Union, Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper, and Binh Dien Fertilizer JSC held the “For Vietnam’s Future” scholarship programme 2025 at the provincial cultural and cinema centre on September 23. The event was attended by representatives from the provincial Party Committee’s Board for Information, Education, and Mass Mobilisation.

As part of the second Golden Season Festival 2025, a rice harvesting contest took place on the terraced fields of Xim Vang commune.

The Hanoi Red Cross Society, in coordination with the Son La provincial Red Cross Society, organised a programme on September 20 to provide gifts for households affected by natural disasters in Muong Lan and Sop Cop communes.

The Son La provincial Post Office on September 20 teamed up with the provincial Red Cross, the Son La Medical College, and the provincial General Hospital to hold a volunteer blood donation programme.

The To Mua commune police, in coordination with Toyota Ha Dong Co., Ltd., Toyota Tay Bac Son La JSC, and Toyota Hoa Binh JSC, on September 20 handed over a new clean water system to To Ngui Satellite Kindergarten in Song Khua commune, which was also renovated thanks to joint efforts.
