The Traffic Safety Committee of Chieng Hoa commune on February 27 organised a ceremony to launch Traffic Safety Year 2026.

Building on the strong momentum of 2025, when total state budget revenue in the province exceeded 5,600 billion VND (surpassing the central government estimate by 35.3%), in 2026 the tax sector of Son La has proactively given advice and closely coordinated with authorities at all levels from the very start of the year to synchronously implement revenue management solutions. Detailed monthly and quarterly scenarios have been developed to ensure progress aligns with budget targets and the local production and business situation.

A working delegation from the provincial Inspectorate on February 27 visited, held a working session with, and presented gifts to Chieng Hoa commune - a disadvantaged Area III commune supported by the unit under the assignment of the provincial People’s Committee.

As part of the Quynh Nhai Culture, Sports and Tourism Week 2026, a culinary contest titled “Flavours of Quynh Nhai – The Colours of Ethnic Cuisine” was held at the yard of the communal General Services Centre on the morning of February 27, attracting a large number of local residents and visitors.

The People’s Committee of Chieng Hoa commune on February 27 organised the Job Fair 2026 and a meeting for local residents working outside the commune in 2025. The events attracted the participation of nine units, enterprises, and colleges, as well as more than 200 workers and youth union members in the commune.

Entrusted with on-lending from the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies, the Women’s Union of Xim Vang commune is managing six savings and loan groups, with 249 households accessing policy credit and total outstanding loans exceeding 14 billion VND (537,283 USD).

With more than 10,000 tonnes of vegetables and flowers, 16,000 tonnes of fresh fruit, over 242 hectares of farmland using water-saving irrigation systems, nearly 13 hectares of greenhouses and net houses, and more than 93 hectares of fruit and vegetable cultivation meeting VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards, Moc Chau ward is affirming its leading position in high-tech agricultural production. These impressive figures are the result of close coordination between supportive policies from local Party committees and authorities and the proactive investment and mechanisation efforts of cooperatives and farming households in the locality.

In 2025, as part of the sub-project on rural electrification from the national grid, Gia Phu commune built a new transformer station and upgraded the power line system and infrastructure for over 300 households in Nhot, Nhot 2, Suoi Duong, Gia Phu, La, Na Mac, and Chat hamlets.

Under the “Godmother” programme, Women’s Union chapters across the province are supporting 222 children for periods ranging from two to five years.

Implementing the 2026 winter-spring crop production plan, the Chieng Mai commune general service centre has assigned specialised staff to closely monitor the situation at the grassroots level, coordinate with hamlet heads and households to review the area, prepare seeds and agricultural supplies, and provide technical guidance on land preparation.

Since the beginning of the year, Muong La commune has attracted more than 2,000 visitors for sightseeing and experiences, mainly to the area around the Son La Hydropower Plant, the hydropower reservoir area, and the “Tat Pha” eco-tourism area in Nong Luong hamlet.

Since 2025, the provincial People's Committee has organised two rounds of evaluation and classification of OCOP (One Commune One Product) items, recognising an additional 54 new products.

To meet the demand for poultry in the area, households in Muong Lan commune have focused on developing poultry farming commercially, aiming to diversify the local food supply.

Taking advantage of the Son La hydroelectric reservoir, farmers in Quynh Nhai commune currently maintain 3,045 fish cages.

In 2025, Ta Xua commune welcomed 130,000 tourist arrivals, including more than 3,000 international visitors, generating revenue of 75 billion VND (8.87 million USD).

As part of the movement to build a cultural life in residential areas, Van Ho commune has strengthened its efforts to raise awareness and encourage officials, Party members, and locals to strive for the titles of cultural family, cultural hamlet, and institution that meets cultural standards, all linked to the building of new-style rural areas.

In 2025, Chieng Sung commune processed and completed the files of seven individuals with severe disabilities, received and managed 330 pensioners and social welfare recipients, and distributed benefits in accordance with regulations.
