The opening of the company’s Northwest regional headquarters in Hom hamlet, Chieng Coi ward, marks a significant milestone in Cat Que’s strategy to maintain a long-term presence in Son La’s raw material production areas, where it has operated for more than 30 years.
The new office will bring the company closer to local farmers and authorities, enabling it to provide more targeted technical support, strengthen quality management and improve market connections for agricultural products, particularly through the coffee value chain.
At the ceremony, the company also officially launched the Hoang Van Thu Industrial Cluster infrastructure development project, spanning Hoang Van Thu and Lam hamlets in Chieng Coi ward and Residential Area 9 in Chieng Sinh ward.
Covering 60 hectares, the project has a total investment of more than 620 billion VND (23.94 million USD), with Cat Que serving as the investor.
Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman Cong stressed that the province considers industrial infrastructure development a priority to attract investment, establish interconnected value chains and strengthen the competitiveness of the local economy.
He said the Hoang Van Thu Industrial Cluster would become a dynamic and efficient industrial development hub closely aligned with Son La’s agricultural strengths.
To accelerate the project’s implementation, Cong called on Cat Que to mobilise resources and promptly complete the necessary legal procedures relating to investment, land, construction and environmental protection. He urged the company to establish a detailed implementation plan and work towards completing the project in the fourth quarter of 2028.
He also instructed provincial departments and agencies to strengthen coordination, provide timely support and resolve obstacles to prevent administrative procedures from being delayed.
The authorities of Chieng Coi and Chieng Sinh wards were asked to work closely with the investor on compensation and site clearance, ensuring transparency, protecting the legitimate rights and interests of affected residents, and building broad public support for the project./.
