The competition featured eight teams, each comprising 10 outstanding farmers from the communes of Muoi Noi, Chieng Mung, Muong Chanh, Phieng Pan, Pung Banh, Chieng Mai and Nam Lau, and Chieng Coi ward.
The teams competed in four rounds. On the morning of October 12, they took part in the “Farmers’ Greetings” and “Listen to the Farmers” rounds, introducing distinctive features of their localities and sharing knowledge and experience in coffee production and processing.
At 7:30 p.m. the same day, the teams will continue competing in the “Smart Farmer” and “Farmers’ Competition” rounds at Tay Bac Square. These rounds will test participants’ skills in picking coffee cherries quickly and correctly. The organisers will announce the results and present awards during the evening programme.
The competition provides an opportunity for local officials, members of farmers’ associations and coffee growing households across the province to exchange experiences, improve their knowledge and production skills, and apply technical advances to cultivation.
The event aims to boost coffee productivity and quality, promote the image of Son La’s dynamic and innovative farmers, and contribute to the sustainable development of the province’s coffee industry.
