In recent time, Chieng Mung commune and Chieng Coi ward have stepped up digital transformation in tandem with administrative reform, the implementation of Project 06 and the “Digital Literacy for All” campaign. Local authorities have focused on raising public awareness and guiding residents in using online public services, VNeID accounts, cashless payments and essential digital platforms. They have also promoted the role of community digital transformation teams in helping residents access and use digital services.
Under the provincial People’s Committee’s plan to roll out the “Digital Public Service Station” model, the two localities were selected to pilot the installation of kiosks supporting administrative procedures. The local authorities surveyed demand in individual hamlets and residential areas, selected suitable kiosk locations, and coordinated preparations for the necessary facilities, telecommunications infrastructure and personnel to assist residents in using the equipment.
The smart public service kiosks have now begun operating, enabling residents to complete administrative procedures through a self-service process. Services include information searches, identity verification using citizen ID cards, document scanning and recognition, form completion, online submission of applications and tracking of application status.
During the inspection, Vice Chairman Hau asked Chieng Mung and Chieng Coi to review and select suitable locations to install all six smart public service kiosks allocated to each locality, ensuring convenient access for residents and meeting infrastructure and facility requirements. He also called for greater use of community digital transformation teams to raise awareness and guide residents in using the kiosks to complete administrative procedures.
The provincial Public Administration Service Centre will coordinate training for staff and inspect service quality while ensuring the security of documents and data. The Department of Science and Technology will provide guidance on technical requirements, information security and connectivity with the National Public Service Portal and related systems.
Telecommunications companies were asked to promptly conduct surveys, ensure reliable network connectivity and propose technical solutions so that the model can be rolled out in a coordinated and effective manner./.
