Attending the event were Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Cong; representatives of the Vietnam Coffee-Cocoa Association and the Korea Coffee Association; businesses and cooperatives; and large numbers of visitors eager to explore and experience the world of coffee.
Seven teams representing coffee producers and processors from Son La province and Hanoi took part in the competition. Contestants demonstrated their brewing skills and guided visitors through the techniques required to prepare coffee to professional standards, before inviting them to sample the finished drinks.
The organisers assessed entries based on several criteria, including display presentation, beverage quality, decorative aesthetics and brewing technique, with the aim of delivering a comprehensive experience for visitors. The competition also sought to select outstanding coffee entries to represent Son La at international competitions.
Following the contest, a Coffee Gala took place in a lively atmosphere, bringing together professional baristas, coffee roasters and representatives of the domestic and international coffee industries to exchange expertise and share insights into raw materials, processing techniques and the art of brewing.
The event gave participants a deeper understanding of different coffee varieties while encouraging them to experiment and create beverages that reflect their individual styles.
Beyond celebrating the craft of coffee preparation and promoting consumption of Son La coffee, the gala also opened up opportunities for business cooperation, helping local producers keep pace with market trends and promote their brands. The event further showcased Son La’s cultural heritage and people to visitors./.
