Son La promotes development of circular, organic agricultural economy, value-chain linkages

Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Lo Minh Hung on October 6 chaired a meeting of Working Group No. 515-QD/TU of the provincial Party Committee' Standing Board on developing organic and circular agriculture and establishing value-chain linkages for agricultural products in the province in the 2026-2030 period.

The event saw the presence of Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Nguyen Viet Cuong; Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Cong; leaders of relevant departments, agencies, several communes and wards; and representatives of Que Lam Group JSC.

At the meeting, the Working Group gave opinions on draft documents, including its working regulations and assignment of tasks; a plan to implement the cooperation programme with Que Lam Group JSC, the Vietnam Circular Agriculture Association and the Vietnam Association of the Elderly on developing organic and circular agriculture and establishing value-chain linkages for agricultural products in Son La province in the 2026-2030 period; the 2026 cooperation programme with the three partners; and a decision on establishing a support team for the Working Group under Decision No. 515-QD/TU dated September 12, 2026.

Speaking at the event, Hung asked the provincial People’s Committee to lead and direct the implementation of the cooperation programme with Que Lam Group JSC, the Vietnam Circular Agriculture Association and the Vietnam Association of the Elderly; approve plans and allocate funds in accordance with regulations for implementation of the 2026 plan and cooperation programme.

He called for the tasks of developing organic and circular agriculture and establishing value-chain linkages for agricultural products in Son La to be carried out with strong determination, concerted efforts and a high sense of responsibility, so as to achieve the set targets and contribute to promoting socio-economic development and improving local people’s material and spiritual well-being.

The provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committee and mass organisations will promptly and effectively implement the cooperation agreement between the Son La provincial Farmers’ Association and Que Lam Phuong Bac One-Member Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Que Lam Group JSC, on developing organic and circular agriculture and establishing value-chain linkages for agricultural products in Son La province.

At the meeting, the Son La provincial Farmers’ Association and Que Lam Phuong Bac One-Member Co., Ltd. signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation on developing organic and circular agriculture and establishing value-chain linkages for agricultural products in Son La province. Another MoU was also inked to support the development of organic and circular agriculture and value chains in Binh Thuan commune./.
