Also attending the meeting, held in Chieng Khoong commune, were Nguyen Viet Cuong, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Council; Dang Ngoc Hau, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee; and representatives of several provincial departments and agencies.
At the meeting, representatives of the People’s Committees of Chieng Khoong, Chieng Khuong, Muong Hung and Song Ma communes reported on their socio-economic development and national defence-security performance in the first nine months of 2026, while putting forward several proposals and recommendations to central authorities.
The provincial delegation to the NA briefed participants on the expected agenda of the second session of the 16th legislature and the delegation’s activities since the first session.
Voters from the communes called on competent authorities to prioritise investment in a permanent bridge across the Ma River, linking National Highway 4G with Cang Kieng hamlet in Chieng Khoong commune.
They also proposed upgrading rural roads and hamlet cultural houses in Song Ma commune, and investing in the upgrade of the road linking Song Ma and Nam Ty communes to facilitate connections with the Son La-Dien Bien Expressway.
They further called for the early expansion of the section of National Highway 4G running through Chieng Khuong commune to meet the requirements of socio-economic development, national defence and security, external relations, and improved living standards for residents in the border area.

Regarding benefits and policies, voters proposed increasing allowances for commune-level officials and ensuring benefits for civil servants from provincial departments and agencies assigned to work at the commune level under Decree No. 178/2024/ND-CP. They also called for improving the quality of health insurance-covered medical services and providing additional medical equipment and medicines for commune health stations.
Voters in Song Ma commune urged authorities to promptly introduce measures to prevent wild elephants from damaging crops and property and ensure the safety of local residents.
At the meeting, leaders of the provincial People’s Committee and relevant departments and agencies addressed issues under their authority.
Huong called on Party committees and authorities at all levels to enhance their responsibility and focus on fulfilling assigned tasks, while promptly addressing benefits, policies and voters’ petitions.
For issues falling central authorities’ jurisdiction, the delegation will compile and forward them to competent agencies.
