At a ceremony to announce Phu Yen’s completion of the 2025 programme on elimination of makeshift and dilapidated houses.
Responding to the Prime Minister's call to eliminate substandard housing, Phu Yen district has conducted surveys and assessments, identifying 385 makeshift or dilapidated homes that needed rebuilding or repair. In response, the district mobilised all available resources and promoted social engagement through agencies and socio-political organisations to implement the programme.
To date, Phu Yen has successfully supported the elimination of all 385 substandard houses, including 341 newly built homes and 44 repaired ones. These homes now meet the "three solid” criterion: solid walls, solid floor, and solid roof. The total amount of funding and construction materials exceeded VND21.89 billion (845,222 USD). Thousands of volunteer workdays were also contributed by local residents.
