Son La city: 99.55% of households use smartphones

Implementing a programme to develop digital citizens and promote cashless payments, 26,296 out of 26,415 households in Son La city, or 99.55%, are using smartphones. The number of citizens aged 14 and over with transaction accounts at banks or other licensed organisations reaches 84.62%, or 70,042 out of 82,774 people.

In addition, the city actively implements cashless payment services to 100% of schools; develops 4.0 markets; and deploys a cashless smart market model for the several markets with 752 traders using cashless payments.

In the coming time, it will continue to coordinate with network operators to expand free internet coverage in public areas, thereby creating favourable conditions for locals to experience the benefits of digital technology.
