The Centre for Research on Community Development Initiatives (RIC) on September 18 held a conference to review Phase I of the project on improving living conditions for ethnic minority communities (July 2022 – September 2025).

The Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue Police Division, in coordination with commune and ward police forces across Son La province, simultaneously organised awareness-raising and hands-on fire prevention and rescue training sessions for local citizens, teachers, and students on September 14-15.

The Son La Red Cross Society, in collaboration with the provincial Hospital of Traditional Medicine, on September 13 delivered free medical check-ups, health consultations, and medicine for local residents in Muong Bang commune.

Teams from grassroots fire prevention units, civil defence groups, and neighborhood fire safety teams in Son La province participated in a competition on September 12.

The provincial Department of Education and Training on September 12 held an online conference to roll out a 2025-2035 project aimed at enhancing computer literacy, knowledge, and application skills for school students in line with international standards.

In August, medical facilities across Son La province provided check-ups and treatment for nearly 147,700 patient visits, including 26,400 inpatients and 75,500 outpatients. A total of 10,800 cases were referred to higher-level hospitals.

As part of Project 1 under the National Target Programme for Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas for the 2021-2025 period, Son La province has invested in numerous water supply facilities and systems in ethnic minority regions, contributing to the improvement of people’s quality of life.

The Charity Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Son La province, in coordination with the People's Committee of Chieng An ward, on September 9 provided 120 million VND (4,548 USD) in support for Quang Anh Tuan’s family in Tam Quynh hamlet to build a new house.

The Office of the provincial People’s Committee on September 9 organised a training conference on the digitalisation of administrative procedure processing results and the handling of administrative services regardless of administrative boundaries within the province. The conference was connected online to the People's Committee offices of all communes and wards across the province.

Son La province’s Department of Education and Training has rolled out a series of measures to expand national-standard schools, standardise facilities and teaching staff, and raise overall education quality. The province is also working to create a safer and more student-friendly learning environment.

Within the framework of the New Rice Festival 2025 in Ngoc Chien commune, a buffalo worship ceremony and a "Buffalo Prince" contest took place at the Muong Chien II stadium on August 31 morning.
