A working delegation of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) led by Governor Nguyen Thi Hong on February 8 visited Son La and presented gifts to families of people with meritorious service, Party cell secretaries, and heads of hamlet Fatherland Front committees in the province.

The provincial Border Guard Command, the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, the Thien Tam Foundation of Vingroup, the Association of the Environment and Construction E-magazine, Xuan Nha commune, together with partners and sponsors inside and outside the province, organised the 2026 “Border Spring Warming the Hearts of Local People” programme in Xuan Nha commune on February 6-7.

Thuan Chau commune on February 4 held a ceremony to hand over houses built under the programme supporting the elimination of temporary and dilapidated housing arising in 2025, funded by the provincial “For the Poor Fund.” The handover ceremony was attended by Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Dang Ngoc Hau.

Son La province has recreated a Mong ethnic cultural space at the first Glorious Spring Fair 2026 which is taking place at the Vietnam Exposition Centre in Hanoi’s Dong Anh commune.

To Hieu ward, in coordination with MISA Group, on January 29 held a ceremony to launch the Misa Agent Work Robot to support administrative procedures at the ward Public Administrative Service Centre. This is the first locality in the province to deploy an AI-integrated robot application to serve citizens and businesses.

The Son La provincial Red Cross Society, in coordination with the People's Committee of Chieng Khoong commune and the Muong Cai Border Guard Station, on January 28 organised a programme named “Charitable Tet in border areas - Border guard spring warms the hearts of villagers 2026.”

The provincial Centre for Youth Activities, in coordination with Gia Phu commune and partner organisations, on January 27 held a Tet (Lunar New Year) charity programme at Sap Xa Primary and Secondary School.

A working delegation from Naval Region 3, led by Rear Admiral Nguyen Dang Tien, Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of Naval Region 3, on January 27 visited and extended Lunar New Year (Tet) greetings to officers and soldiers of Radar Station 540 under Regiment 351, Naval Region 3, as well as to local forces and residents in the Con Co special zone of Quang Tri province.

Amid the chilly weather of the early days of the year, we had the opportunity to return to the border commune of Long Sap, where projects to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses are being urgently completed so that local people can welcome the Lunar New Year (Tet) in new homes.

In 2025, Son La province has strengthened state management over mineral resources, focusing on advising and organising auctions, issuing exploration and mining licenses in accordance with the planning, contributing to the efficient use of resources and increasing budget revenue.

In 2025, Muong Lam commune was among the localities in Son La province most severely affected by natural disasters, with total damage exceeding 80 billion VND (3.05 million USD).

Since the implementation of the two-level local government model, Chieng Sung commune has mobilised social resources to install 296 solar-powered street lights along Provincial Road 110 in the commune centre and on internal roads in Yen Binh, Chieng Den, Tram Cau, Tan Lap, Phuong, Sai Luong, and Phat Nam hamlets.

Currently, Muong Chien commune has more than 22,400 hectares of forest land, including over 22,200 hectares of natural forest and nearly 180 hectares of planted forest that has matured.

The Muong Lan Border Guard Post, together with the Muong Lan commune People’s Committee and donors, on January 24 organised a programme aiming to bring Lunar New Year (Tet) support to residents and students in the border commune of Muong Lan, Son La province.
