Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Dang Ngoc Hau and delegates cut the ribbon to inaugurate a house for a household in Thuan Chau commune.
Following a review, the total number of newly arising cases requiring the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses after May 15, 2025, across communes and wards is 1,838, including 1,645 new constructions and 193 repairs. Accordingly, from November 2025 to the end of 2025, 143 households are scheduled for implementation (118 new houses and 25 repairs).
In 2026, the province will continue supporting the remaining 1,695 households (1,527 new constructions and 168 repairs). Funding sources include housing support for poor households under the National Target Programme on Sustainable Poverty Reduction, housing support for people with meritorious services, and housing assistance for households affected by natural disasters.
The elimination of newly arising temporary and dilapidated houses has been carried out in a determined and coordinated manner, with the engagement of the entire political system from the provincial to grassroots levels. As of January 30, 2026, the whole province had completed housing support for 324 households across 35 communes and wards, achieving 227% of the set plan and exceeding the target by 181 households.
Many localities have shown proactiveness and flexibility in implementation, not only fulfilling the 2025 targets but also accelerating progress and exceeding the planned targets for households scheduled for 2026, thereby helping poor and disadvantaged families stabilise their lives early and clearly demonstrating the strong political commitment and responsibility of Party committees and authorities at all levels.
In 2026, Son La will continue to implement the programme decisively and comprehensively, striving to complete housing support for all remaining eligible households in accordance with the plan, ensuring the right beneficiaries, compliance with regulations, and transparency. This effort aims to stabilise livelihoods and improve housing quality for poor households, people with contributions to the revolution, and vulnerable groups, especially in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.
