Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen Huu Dong inspects preparations for Hoa Binh - Moc Chau Expressway construction.

The Hoa Binh - Moc Chau Expressway’s section passing through Son La province is a key project that aims to create a breakthrough in promoting the socio-economic development of Son La province and the northwestern region in general.

The road has a length of about 32.3km, and is designed to have two lanes in the first phase. The project, with total investment of about 4.94 trillion VND (201.32 million USD) sourced from the central and local budgets, will be implemented from 2023 to 2028.

Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen Huu Dong works with Moc Chau and Van Ho districts and relevant departments and units on preparations for Hoa Binh - Moc Chau Expressway construction.

After the field trip, the provincial Party chief requested relevant units and localities to focus on implementing tasks right from the first days of the year.

Departments and localities must focus heavily on resettlement work, speed up site clearance, and develop bidding plans to serve the project, he said, adding attention should be paid to building connection projects from the expressway to serve the general development of Moc Chau and Van Ho districts.

It is necessary to popularise the significance and urgency of the project to the province's socio-economic development, national defence and security so that people can understand and support the implementation of the project, he noted.
