The provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism on June 24 convened a meeting of the Organising Committee of the preliminary round of the 2024 Reading Cultural Ambassador contest in Son La province.

After the three-year implementation of Resolution No. 10-NQ/TU dated May 13, 2021 of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee on developing Moc Chau district into a township by 2025, with the efforts and determination of all-level Party committees, authorities and residents in the district, and with the attention and support of provincial authorities, departments and agencies, Moc Chau has achieved many significant results.

The Muong La district People's Committee on June 10 held a ceremony to announce decisions and receive certificates recognising 32 national heritage trees in the locality.

In an effort to create jobs and stable income for rural labourers, help them get rid of poverty and ensure social welfare for them, Mai Son district has integrated many mechanisms and policies, encouraging local workers to attend training classes and assisting them in seeking jobs at agencies and businesses in and outside the province.

The Vietnam Youth Federation (VYF) of Yen Chau district organised its 6th congress for the 2024-2029 term on June 2-3, drawing the participation of 120 delegates representing more than 40,000 young people of all ethnic groups in the district.

The Department of Industry and Trade ranked 7th out of 20 departments and agencies in Son La province in the administrative reform index 2023 with 86.72 points, down two places compared to 2022.

The Chieng Le Preschool in Son La city on May 27 organised a ceremony to close the 2023-2024 school year, and receive a certificate recognising it as a level-2 national standard one.   

With goals of preserving biodiversity, contributing to socio-economic development towards a green economy, and proactively adapting to climate change, the Son La provincial People's Committee has promoted the implementation of the national biodiversity strategy to 2030, with a vision to 2050.

The representative office of Nhan dan (People) newspaper in Son La province on May 20-21 presented readers with copies of the print special edition with the panorama painting depicting the 1954 Dien Bien Phu Campaign, published in celebration of the historic victory.

The provincial Children’s Union organised the "Children's Voices and Aspirations" Forum 2024 on May 20, drawing 220 outstanding children who represent over 26,000 union members in the province.
