Son La school responds to Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day

The Son La High School for the Gifted on April 21 held a programme in response to Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day.

The event was attended by leaders from the provincial Department of Education and Training, education experts in the field of AI technology, and more than 1,000 students of the school.

Prof. Sc. Dr. Nguyen Dinh Duc, Chairman of the University of Engineering and Technology under the Vietnam National University – Hanoi, highlighted the current global trends in the development and application of artificial intelligence. He also touched upon the AI development strategies of major world powers and Vietnam.

For students, he said, AI is now being widely applied in learning, with many AI-powered tools being used as virtual tutors, learning assistants, personalised study programmes, and language learning support.

 

Students debate the topic “Students should not be allowed to use mobile phones at school.”

The programme also featured a debate on the topic “Students should not be allowed to use mobile phones at school” between students from the English-specialised and literature-specialised classes.

The centre for reading culture development presents books to the Son La High School for the Gifted.

On the occasion, the centre for reading culture development at the institute for national culture development presented 50 books to the school’s library.
