Acting on President Ho Chi Minh’s teachings, the provincial Military Command in recent years has worked closely with departments, agencies and localities where they station to advance tree planting and forest protection, helping cover barren land and denuded hills.

The activity plays an important role in communications efforts to raise awareness among officers, soldiers, civil servants and residents about the role and value of afforestation, contributing to disaster mitigation and climate change response.

In the early days of spring 2026, officers and soldiers of the provincial Military Command planted more than 2,000 trees, including timber and fruit varieties.

Colonel Sa Minh Nghia, Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Military Party Committee and Political Commissar of the provincial Military Command, delivers remarks at the ceremony.

At the ceremony, leaders of the provincial Military Command called on Party committees and unit commanders to step up communications through multiple channels to raise awareness among officers and soldiers of the purpose and significance of the tree-planting festival.

Tree planting should be carried out under clear planning and aligned with barracks development, training grounds and production activities, with greater application of technical measures to ensure practical and effective results, avoiding formalism, he said.

Officers and soldiers were also urged to actively plant and care for trees in their residential and working areas, as well as within their families and units.
