Celebrating the Party’s founding anniversary and welcoming Spring 2026, Son La established working delegations to inspect and grasp the Tet preparations in localities, agencies, and units across the province, while also encouraging forces on duty during Tet. At the same time, communes and wards were directed to effectively implement social security and welfare policies, carefully attending to the material and spiritual well-being of the people, ensuring that every household and every citizen could enjoy the spring and celebrate Tet.

The whole province provided Tet and pre-harvest hunger relief assistance to 6,629 households with 25,341 people, distributing a total of 488,820 kg of rice. The provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee received and allocated gifts from the “For the Poor” Fund to poor households in communes and wards, and directed localities to present Tet gifts to 51,001 poor and near-poor households before the Lunar New Year holiday.

Cha A Cua, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, addresses the function.

Localities also organised various activities before, during, and after Tet, such as Spring Flower Fairs; book and newspaper exhibitions; art programmes celebrating the Party’s founding anniversary and Spring 2026; New Year’s Eve fireworks displays; and tree-planting launches. Tourist sites and attractions across communes and wards opened to welcome visitors and organised diverse programmes to serve and attract tourists for sightseeing and experiential activities, with total tourist arrivals estimated at nearly 300,000, an increase of 20% compared to the same period in 2025. A leader of the provincial Department of Public Security delivers a report at the meeting.

Public health care; crime prevention, combat, and handling; patrols and traffic safety control; and fire and explosion prevention were strengthened. The atmosphere of welcoming the spring among officials, soldiers, and the people was joyful, enthusiastic, healthy, safe, and economical. Political security and social order and safety across the province remained stable; border and internal security were ensured.

Hoang Van Nghiem, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, speaks at the meeting.

Speaking at the meeting, the Secretary of the provincial Party Committee praised and acknowledged the efforts of authorities at all levels, sectors, and localities in organising a joyful, safe, and economical Tet for officials and the people, while ensuring political security and social order and safety in the province. He requested that they closely follow their assigned functions and tasks, urgently implement tasks from the very beginning of the year, and avoid prolonging the Tet and festival atmosphere in a way that would affect work progress and quality. With strong determination, they must successfully achieve the 2026 socio-economic development goals while ensuring national defense and security.

Key priorities include accelerating the implementation of key projects and works; preparing conditions for the successful organisation of the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term; conducting military conscription in 2026; and organising the study and dissemination of new directives and resolutions of the Party Central Committee, as well as the Action Programme implementing the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress and the Resolution of the 16th provincial Party Congress for the 2025–2030 term.
