The Son La city People's Committee organised the Job Fair 2024 at the Tay Bac (Northwest) Square on May 24.

The Son La provincial People's Committee held a ceremony in Quynh Nhai district on May 22 to launch the Action Month for Children 2024 with the theme "Implementing practical action, prioritising resources for children".

The Phu Yen district People's Committee organised the job and career counseling fair 2024 on May 17.

The People's Committee of Yen Chau district on May 14 organised the third job and career counseling fair 2024 in Phieng Khoai commune.

The Northern Power Corporation organised a drill on natural disaster prevention and control, search and rescue, incident settlement and safety in 2024 in Son La city on May 14.

The Muong La district People's Committee on May 12 organised a competition on firefighting and rescue skills for inter-family groups in 2024.

Muong La district’s Health Centre coordinated with It Ong town to launch a communication campaign in response to the World Thalassaemia Day on May 8.

The Red Cross Society of Son La province coordinated with the provincial Party Committee’s Inspection Board and the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV)’s Son La branch in organising a humanitarian market in Chieng On commune, Yen Chau district, on May 7.

The provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development coordinated with the People's Committee of Song Ma district in organising a ceremony to launch a drive in response to the National Clean Water and Environmental Sanitation Week 2024 in Chieng Khuong commune, Song Ma district on May 3.

In recent days, Yen Chau district has been one of the localities suffering excessive heat, with an average temperature of over 40 degrees Celsius.

The Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists on April 27 coordinated with the Literary and Arts Association of Dien Bien province in organising the opening ceremony of the 23rd Northern Mountainous Region Art Photo Festival 2024.

The Son La provincial Museum on April 14 organised an experiential educational programme themed "General Vo Nguyen Giap - Legendary General". 

The provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with the People's Committee of Van Ho district to organise a programme in response to Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day (April 21) and World Book and Copyright Day (April 23), and launch the 2024 lifelong learning week, at the Van Ho Secondary School on April 12.  

In March, the annual Youth Month, organisations and associations in Son La province implemented 93 activities to visit historical sites with the aim to preserve cultural and historical values. They also held six gatherings with former youth union officials and typical unionists through different periods, along with 54 dissemination activities on the Child Law, and legal documents on child protection and care.

Mai Son district is working to create jobs for 3,257 labourers this year, of them 2,347 under the national target programme on socio-economic development in ethnic minority-inhabited and mountainous areas.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with Yen Chau district in organising a book exhibition and other activities on April 6 at the Yen Chau Town Primary School to celebrate Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day (April 21) and World Book and Copyright Day (March 23), and launch the Lifelong Learning Week 2024.
