The volunteer club of the Son La High School for the Gifted, in collaboration with the People's Committee of Chieng Phung commune, Song Ma district, on December 24 held an inauguration ceremony for a bridge connecting Pin and Chieng Vang hamlets to the commune centre. Military units under the provincial Border Guard Command, in collaboration with agencies both inside and outside Son La, on December 19 organized a series of meaningful activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - 2024) and the 35th anniversary of the All-People Defence Festival (December 22, 1989 - 2024).

The Department of Education and Training of Son La city on December 20 organized the opening ceremony of a city-level science and technology competition for secondary school students for the 2024-2025 school year.

Son La city’s police directed the police forces of communes and wards to simultaneously organise firefighting and prevention and rescue skills dissemination and experience programmes for thousands of people, teachers, and students in the city on December 14-15.

The To Hieu Secondary School in Son La city organised a programme on December 16 titled "A day as a soldier" at a unit under the provincial Military Command. The event was to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - 2024) and the 35th anniversary of the All-People Defence Festival (December 22, 1989 - 2024).
