“Volunteer Winter 2024 - Spring 2025” programme held

The provincial Youth Union on December 30 organized the “Volunteer Winter 2024 – Spring 2025” programme to celebrate the 95th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3) and the upcoming Party congresses at all levels.

The programme was supported by Binh Yen pharmacy chain, the Son La provincial Young Pharmacists Club, the Youth Union of To Hieu Kindergarten, VPBank’s Son La branch, and local philanthropists.

The Son La city Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Board and the city Youth Union, along with other organizations, present gifts to families in difficult circumstances in Chieng Co commune.
 Medical staff from the Son La city Health Center provide health check-ups and consultations for the people of Chieng Co commune.
Free medicines are distributed to residents.

The event featured the donation of 51 Tet gift packages worth 1 million VND (20 USD) each to disadvantaged households and policy beneficiary families in Chieng Co commune; the awarding of 11 scholarships, each worth 500,000 VND, to 11 students from Chieng Co Primary and Secondary School; and the establishment of a “zero-dong stall” providing essential goods to local residents.

Free medical consultations, health checkups, and medicines were given to those in need, and free bank accounts were opened for residents in Chieng Co commune.

The programme also saw the inauguration of the “House of Wisdom” project in Ot Luong hamlet, Chieng Co commune; the “Light of the Village” project in Tam Quynh hamlet, and the “Youth Flower Garden” project at the headquarters of the Chieng Den commune People's Committee.

The total funding for the programme exceeded 135 million VND, raised from youth union members, various organizations, and philanthropists.

To implement the campaign, the provincial Youth Union formed 12 volunteer teams that engaged in renovating rural roads, cleaning the environment, building sanitary toilets, planting trees, and distributing gifts to the poor and underprivileged children.
