Information department leaders pay pre-Tet visit to Dua Mon commune

A delegation from the Department of Information and Communications on January 3 visited and extended best wishes to Dua Mon commune, Song Ma district, in the threshold of the Lunar New Year (Tet) 2025.

The provincial People's Committee has been assigned to support Dua Mon, classified as a specially difficult commune.  It consists of 19 hamlets with a total of 1,671 households belonging to Thai, Mong, and Kho Mu ethnic groups. The local population still faces significant challenges, with 26.25% of households living in poverty and 20.3% as near-poor.

Leaders of the Department of Information and Communications present gifts to disadvantaged students.

In 2024, the department, in collaboration with Viettel Son La, helped eliminate temporary housing for four poor households in Dua Mon commune, with a total value of 80 million VND (3,146 USD). The department also donated 15 gift packages, valued at 15 million VND, to primary school students facing difficult circumstances, and provided three desktop computers to the commune.

Additionally, the department instructed the provincial Post Office to maintain and enhance service quality at the communal post office, and to improve the receipt and return of administrative documents through the public postal service.

The delegation surveys housing conditions of poor households in Dua Mon commune.

On this occasion, the Department of Information and Communications presented Tet gifts to Dua Mon commune, offered gifts to 10 underprivileged students, and surveyed the housing conditions of poor households in the locality. The survey aims to develop a plan to eliminate temporary housing for these families in the near future.
