The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Son La province (VFF Son La) on June 10 held talks with a delegation from the Lao Front for National Construction (LFNC) chapters of Bokeo and Oudomxay provinces.

Ha Trung Chien, Permanent Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, on June 10 chaired a working session with relevant departments and agencies on the 2026 plan for periodic health examinations and free health screening for residents across the province.

Regiment 754 under the provincial Military Command on June 8 held the 2026 oath-taking ceremony for new recruits. Attending the ceremony were Major General Nguyen Dang Khai, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of Military Region 2; Colonel Chu Van Thanh, Commander of the provincial Military Command; and Nguyen Thanh Cong, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee.

The Military Region 2 Exercise Steering Committee, in coordination with Son La province, on June 9 held the opening ceremony of the Son La provincial Defensive Zone Exercise 2026.

As part of the Son La provincial Defensive Zone Exercise 2026, the Steering Committee for the exercise on June 9 organised a live-force exercise for handling the A2 scenario: “Responding to cyberterrorist attacks and infiltration across the land border; apprehending terrorists and rescuing hostages; firefighting, search and rescue operations; and mine and explosive ordnance clearance.”

Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Ito Naoki and his spouse on June 6-7 visited several tourism and agricultural models in Moc Chau and Van Ho.

Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Dang Ngoc Hau, together with a working delegation, on June 4 inspected the implementation of administrative procedure reform, the comprehensive review of the legal normative document management system, and the programme to eliminate temporary and dilapidated housing in Yen Chau commune.

The provincial Steering Committee for Land Surveying, Cadastral Documentation, and Land Database Development on June 3 held a meeting to review the implementation of a related plan and discuss solutions to accelerate the achievement of targets set out in the plan.

Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Dang Ngoc Hau, who heads the provincial task force for the comprehensive review of the legal normative document system, chaired a working session on June 2 with the support team for the review. The event also saw the presence of leaders of several provincial departments, agencies and sectors.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has officially classified Son La as a Tier-1 provincial administrative unit, according to a decision recently issued by the minister.
