At the meeting, the Department of Agriculture and Environment reported on the progress of resolving land originating from agricultural and forestry farms and relocating dairy cattle from areas where livestock farming is prohibited in Van Son and Thao Nguyen wards.
To date, the Moc Chau Vinatea Company area has had 623 land plots surveyed, covering more than 112 hectares. Moc Chau Co Do Tea JSC has completed surveys of 23.9 hectares involving 61 households, while Moc Chau Chieng Ve Tea JSC has finished surveying more than 240 hectares and signed 612 of 627 land allocation contracts.
The process has faced difficulties due to incomplete and inconsistent land records, changes in actual land use, and the failure of some households to provide sufficient documentation or cooperate in boundary demarcation.
Moc Chau Dairy Cattle Breeding JSC currently has livestock production partnerships with 466 households, with a total herd of 25,831 cattle. Of these, 5,639 cattle owned by 124 households in Thao Nguyen and Van Son wards are subject to relocation from areas where livestock farming is not permitted. All of these households have signed partnership contracts with the company.
The company’s Breeding and Technical Transfer Centre currently houses 1,900 of its planned 2,000 cattle, while the 4,000-head dairy complex is nearing completion and is expected to accommodate most of the cattle subject to relocation.
Speaking at the event, Cua asked relevant agencies and units to continue reviewing and surveying the current land use situation, demarcating boundaries, completing boundary records and land-use plans in accordance with regulations, and clearly defining the responsibilities of each level, sector, locality and land user.
He also called for stepped-up communications and dialogue to build public consensus. Regarding the relocation of dairy cattle, he urged agencies to accelerate implementation, review available land, infrastructure and other conditions for the work, and expedite the Moc Chau Dairy Paradise Project, helping improve land-use efficiency and facilitate the relocation of the dairy cattle./.
