A survey team from the National Council for Education and Human Resources Development under the Ministry of Education and Training on October 31 held a working session with the Son La provincial Steering Committee for Building a Learning Society to review the implementation of learning society development in the context of the two-tier local administration system.

With the spirit of “mutual support and solidarity,” the “Jar of Loving Rice” model initiated by the provincial Women’s Unions at all levels has spread widely, bringing encouragement and sharing to poor women and families in difficult circumstances, and contributing to social welfare in Son La province.

Since 2021, Son La province has organised training for over 68,000 workers at various levels, with many programmes to enhance knowledge and skills in areas such as digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and big data. This has helped raise the proportion of workers with vocational training to 61.4% of the total workforce.

The People’s Committee of Bac Yen commune on October 24 organised the first career counselling and job fair 2025.

To create a breakthrough in job creation, improve labour quality, and contribute to sustainable socio-economic development, on October 14, 2025, the People's Committee of Son La province issued Project No. 2553 on sending workers from Son La province to work abroad under contracts for the period 2025-2030.

In the 2025-2026 academic year, Phieng Cam commune has six schools, with nearly 4,200 students enrolled across preschool, primary, and secondary levels.

After more than three months of implementing the two-tier local government model, the Public Administrative Service Centre of Pung Banh commune has received and processed 325 administrative procedure applications across 12 areas under its jurisdiction.

The Forest Protection Sub-Department of Son La province is organising a training workshop on forestry communication skills in 2025 for 40 participants, including civil servants, public employees, and forest rangers across the forestry sector, on October 16-17.

The Department of Cooperative Economy and Rural Development under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development on October 15-16 coordinated with the International Centre for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT) to organise a training workshop on the nutrition-sensitive food system development project.

The Son La provincial Party Committee’s Board for Information and Education and Mass Mobilisation, in collaboration with the Party Committee of Chieng Lao commune, on October 13 organised a conference on legal dissemination and education in 2025.

Immediately after completing the restructuring and stabilisation of the two-tier local government apparatus, Thuan Chau commune proactively launched a series of coordinated measures to pursue the goal of comprehensive digital transformation. This has been identified as a key task in building a modern and civilised society, enabling residents to benefit from digital technologies, while improving their quality of life and enhancing the efficiency of production and business activities.

In response to the 30th Fire Prevention and Safety Month (October 2025), on October 11, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department, along with local police units across Son La province, simultaneously organised fire safety and rescue awareness activities, hands-on exercises, and practical training for residents, teachers, and students.

Van Ho commune’s police, in collaboration with the Bee Garden Van Khe Kindergarten charity group from Hanoi, on October 10 presented gifts to the Pa Cop 2 branch of the Van Ho Kindergarten and its students.

In response to National Digital Transformation Day (October 10), the People’s Committee of Chieng An ward on October 8 organised a Digital Transformation Festival under the theme: "Universalising Digital Knowledge and Skills for All, Building a Sustainable Society."

The Forest Protection Unit of Region 15 and the Tu Xua Special-Use Forest Management Board, in coordination with the local authorities of Suoi To, Muong Coi, and Ta Xua communes, on October 7 organised a signing ceremony for coordination regulations on forest protection, forest fire prevention and control, nature conservation, and biodiversity preservation.

The provincial Mobile Police Unit, in coordination with Son La Hydropower Company, conducted a training exercise and drill on responding to armed attacks and bomb disposal at the Son La Hydropower Plant on October 7.

The Son La provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation coordinated with the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion to organise the 2025 Voluntary Blood Donation Day, under the slogan “Donate Blood to Save Lives – Donate Regularly” at Tay Bac University on October 5.

The Son La Vietnamese Women’s Association – Connecting Women from All Places on October 5 held a gathering to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Women’s Union (October 20, 1930 – 2025). The event was attended by over 120 members from grassroots-level women’s organisations across the province.
