Son La enhances forest protection, development

In October, the provincial Forest Protection Sub-department has directed its units to strengthen coordination with local authorities to popularise regulations on forest management, protection, and development. They have also collaborated in patrols, monitoring, and handling violations in the forestry sector.

At the same time, efforts have been intensified in managing forestry development, area planning. Programme and project investors have been requested to ensure the reforestation progress.

So far, the province has planted over 1,800 hectares of concentrated forest, of them more than 1,390 hectares funded by social sources. Additionally, over 1,884,300 scattered trees have been planted across the province. Currently, competent units and local authorities are assessing tree growth, organising supplementary planting, and ensuring the survival rate of trees according to regulations.
