Conference aims to raise trade union members' awareness against legal violations

The provincial Federation of Labour collaborated with the provincial Department of Public Security to hold a conference aimed at raising awareness against legal violations among trade union members and workers for 2024 in Quynh Nhai district on October 28.

The conference provided attendees with information on the crime situation and drug use in Vietnam and Son La province in recent years. Participants learned about new methods employed by drug-related criminals, how to identify emerging types of drugs, and the consequences of drug use. Additionally, they were also given essential knowledge on preventing online fraud, human trafficking, and illegal practices.

Other topics included measures to combat drug abuse, prostitution, HIV/AIDS, human trafficking, and usury, as well as to ensure traffic safety, public order, and safe social media usage. The conference also emphasised the need to hold communications campaigns on the importance of developing membership and establishing grassroots trade unions in companies and cooperatives.

The event aimed to enhance the vigilance and responsibility of trade union members and workers in crime prevention efforts, thus encouraging their active participation in detecting, reporting, and combating various forms of crime and legal violations.
