An exhibition highlighting the 1943 prison break opened at the Son La Prison special national relic site on July 27 as part of the province's 2026 "Ve Nguon" (Back to the Roots) commemorative programme.

Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Dang Ngoc Hau on July 27 chaired a meeting of the council for appraising the results of the identification of villages in ethnic minority and mountainous areas and especially disadvantaged villages in accordance with Government Decree No. 272/2025/ND-CP dated October 16, 2025.

Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Tien on July 27 inspected the construction progress of primary and secondary boarding schools in Muong Hung and Chieng Khuong communes. On the occasion of the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 – 2026), Hoang Van Nghiem, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, and head of the provincial delegation of National Assembly deputies, on July 26 visited and presented gifts to war invalids, sick veterans, revolutionary contributors, and families of fallen soldiers in To Hieu and Chieng An wards.

Nguyen Dinh Viet, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, on July 24 attended a ceremony to inaugurate and hand over newly built and renovated houses to families of biological children of revolutionaries affected by Agent Orange/dioxin in Doan Ket and Song Khua communes.

Ahead of the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1947–2026), Vi Duc Tho, member of the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board and Standing Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Council, visited and presented gifts to wounded and sick veterans in Tuong Ha commune on July 23.

Colonel Chu Van Thanh, member of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee and Commander of the provincial Military Command, on July 22 led a delegation to visit and present gifts to war invalids and sick veterans as well as relatives of fallen soldiers in Sop Cop and Muong Lan communes.
