Son La province is stepping up efforts to promote innovation in agriculture, food processing and product traceability as it seeks to increase the value of locally produced goods.

Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Lo Minh Hung on September 28 chaired a meeting with the provincial Party Committee’s advisory and support agencies and Party-affiliated public service units to review their performance in the third quarter of 2026 and set out tasks for the fourth quarter.

After two days of spirited competition, the Son La provincial Steering Committee for the Development of Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation on September 27 held a closing and award ceremony of the Son La Digital Transformation Competition 2026.

Son La province will host the Innovation and Digital Transformation Day 2026 on September 28-29, featuring a wide range of activities to connect stakeholders and showcase technology products, models and solutions, helping advance innovation and digital transformation across the province.

As part of the final round of the Son La Digital Transformation Competition 2026, on September 26 morning, contestants presented nine ideas, initiatives and solutions across a range of fields, focusing on practical issues in education, agriculture, Party building, administrative reform, information technology and communications.

The Son La provincial People’s Committee on September 23 held the 2026 professional firefighting and rescue competition for grassroots fire prevention and firefighting and rescue forces, civil defence forces, and “fire safety inter-family groups” in Son La province, at Tay Bac Square.

The Standing Boards of the Lao Cai and Son La provincial Party Committees held a conference in Lao Cai on September 22 to review cooperation between the two localities during the 2021-2025 period and agree on the orientations and areas of collaboration for 2026-2030.

Following the merger of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) branches in Son La, Dien Bien and Lai Chau provinces, SBV Region III now oversees a large area with a substantial workload. The branch has stepped up the use of digital technology in management and administration, gradually modernising its working environment, improving operational efficiency and meeting the demands of development in the digital era.

A provincial supervision delegation has reviewed the implementation of policies and laws governing housing investment projects across the province from 2015 to May 2026, with a focus on identifying bottlenecks and proposing solutions to accelerate project implementation.

A delegation from the provincial Delegation to the National Assembly (NA) led by its full-time deputy head Hoang Ngan Hoan, who is also member of the NA’s Committee for Public Petitions and Supervision, on September 17 conducted a survey in Muong La commune regarding the performance of local government operations following administrative mergers, organisational streamlining, and the implementation of the two-tier local government model.

The provincial People's Committee held a meeting with religious dignitaries, officials, and influential figures from ethnic minority communities (Cluster No. 1) in Sop Cop commune on September 17. This cluster comprises four border communes: Sop Cop, Pung Banh, Muong Lan, and Muong Leo.

Cha A Cua, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and President of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, on September 17 led a working delegation to inspect the progress of several projects in Song Ma, Huoi Mot, and Chieng So communes.
