Son La launches peak campaign for combating smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods

Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Cong on May 26 chaired a meeting of the task force on the implementation of a peak campaign for preventing and combating smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights in Son La province (Task Force 1181).

Implementing the Prime Minister's direction on this issue, Son La province has established Task Force 1181, developed an implementation plan; and deployed interdisciplinary inspection teams to carry out peak inspections in the province.

At the meeting, members of Task Force 1181 discussed and gave their opinions on the operating regulations, decided on the establishment of an interdisciplinary inspection team and a plan to combat smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and intellectual property infringement in the province.

They proposed the development of a detailed inspection plan by region and area, ensuring effective inspection and control, avoiding overlaps.

They stressed the need to assign specific tasks to each member of the task force to organise specialised inspection teams by sector and field in accordance with the actual local situation; promote community spirit and people's supervision by issuing denunciation forms and reports on violations; and strengthen supervision of key opinion leaders (KOLs) when advertising and introducing products.

Speaking at the event, Cong requested the provincial Department of Industry and Trade and its member units to closely follow the assigned tasks, select key missions to propose detailed and specific plans of the industry in the work of preventing counterfeit goods, fake goods, trade fraud and acts of infringement of intellectual property rights.

The department was tasked with building a general plan of the province, with priority given to solving outstanding issues of public concern.
