Permanent members of the Party Committee, the People's Council, the People's Committee, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Son La province , and representatives from the Ministry of National Defence and the Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu on May 6 laid a wreath at the monument of President Ho Chi Minh and northwestern residents, and offered incense at a temple dedicated to the late leader at the Tay Bac (Northwest) Square in Son La city.

The Military Command of Son La province on May 6 held a ceremony to inaugurate a road celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory, the 80th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army, and 35 years of the All-People National Defence Festival.

The final rehearsal for the national-level celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - 2024) took place at the Dien Bien Stadium in the northwestern mountainous province of Dien Bien on May 5 morning.

On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - 2024), representatives of the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Son La province on May 3 offered incense to commemorate General Vo Nguyen Giap and heroic martyrs at the Ban Nhot Forest historical relic site in Gia Phu commune, Phu Yen district.

The Son La provincial Department of Industry and Trade and its Trade Union held a ceremony on April 26 at the Mai Son Cement Joint Stock Company to launch the Action Month for Occupational Safety and Hygiene, and the Workers' Month 2024.

Thuan Chau district on August 26 held a ceremony to inaugurate the Martyrs’ Memorial at the Pha Din Pass cultural and historical site.

Leaders of Quynh Nhai district on April 24 visited and gave gifts to the families of martyrs Lu Van Phong and Lo Van Cau in Keo Hat hamlet, and frontline conscripted labourers La Thi Xom in Muong Giang hamlet, and Tong Thi Truc in Dan Danh hamlet, Muong Giang commune, who had directly participated in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign.

On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory, Thuan Chau district established 11 working groups to visit and give gifts to 40 Dien Bien soldiers, youth volunteers, and frontline conscripted labourers who had directly engaged in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign in 14 communes.

The rehearsal of the inauguration ceremony of the Martyrs' Memorial at the Pha Din Pass cultural and historical site was held on April 22, at the Culture and Cinema Centre of Son La province.

Van Ho district on April 19 organized a forest fire fighting, and search and rescue drill in 2024.

A delegation of the Standing Board of Hung Yen province’s Party Committee led by Secretary Nguyen Huu Nghia, who is also member of the Party Central Committee, on April 14 had a working session with its counterpart in Son La province, during which they looked into the implementation of the comprehensive cooperation between the two localities since 2022, and cooperation plans in the future.

The Central Emulation and Commendation Council, in collaboration with the Presidium of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee, organised a ceremony in the northern province of Hoa Binh on April 13 to launch a campaign aimed at eliminating temporary and ramshackle houses across the country by 2025.

Son La province received six programmes and projects funded by foreign non-governmental organisations (NGOs) with a total committed value of nearly 4.9 million USD.
