Programme brings warm Tet to residents in Chieng On commune

The Chieng On Border Guard Station, in coordination with the People's Committee of Yen Chau district’s Chieng On commune and various donors, organised a programme on January 15, aiming to bring a warm Tet (Lunar New Year) festival to locals.

At the programme, 1.3 tonnes of rice, 250 boxes of instant noodles, and 180 gift packages, each worth 500,000 VND (19.7 USD), were presented to disadvantaged households. Additionally, 100 gift packages, each valued at 300,000 VND, were given to underprivileged students at Chieng On commune’s kindergarten and primary school. The total funding amounted to nearly 200 million VND, contributed by units and individuals.

The programme brought meaningful gifts to disadvantaged families and students in Chieng On commune, offering timely encouragement as locals and border guards are preparing for the Tet festival. It also helped strengthen military-civilian solidarity and build a firm all-people border defence posture.
