78 entries enter final round of provincial science, technology competition for students

The provincial Department of Education and Training held a ceremony on January 15 at the Son La High School for the Gifted to launch the provincial Science and Technology Innovation Competition for high school students for the 2024-2025 academic year.

The competition attracted 223 projects from 63 secondary schools, high schools and continuing education centres, and the Divisions of Education and Training of districts and Son La city. After the preliminary round, the organising board selected 78 projects of 148 candidates from 42 schools for the final round. The entries are in four groups of fields: Social and Behavioral Sciences; Mathematics - Information Technology - Embedded Systems; Physics - Engineering; Chemistry - Biology - Environment.

The judging process will take place from January 15-17, during which the jury will judge each project display booth, listen to the project team's presentation for a maximum of 15 minutes; and interview the contestants for a maximum of 20 minutes.

The competition, the 12th of its kind, serves as a useful playground, giving students an opportunity to meet and enrich their knowledge, develop life skills, promote their passion for scientific and technical research, and have practical projects contributing to the development of society.
