Winners of first Son La Science and Technology Awards honoured

The People's Committee of Son La province held a ceremony on January 10 to announce winners of the first provincial Science and Technology Awards and trademark protection certificates for pineapple, macadamia, and Ta Xua Bac Yen tea products.

Taking place from July to October 2024, the awards attracted a total of 17 entries, including three in the field of social sciences and humanities, two in science and technology, two in natural sciences, and nine in agricultural sciences.

Following a rigorous evaluation, the specialised council determined that 14 projects met the required standards and criteria. Based on these assessments, the provincial awards council unanimously recommended the organising committee propose the Chairperson of the provincial People's Committee present 11 prizes, including two B prizes, four C prizes, and five consolation prizes, to authors and groups of authors.

At the ceremony, the Department of Application and Development of Technology under the Ministry of Science and Technology announced and awarded the trademark protection certificates for pineapple, macadamia, and Ta Xua Bac Yen tea products of the province.
