During the two resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialism, thousands of people from Sơn La province joined the army and fought against the enemies alongside the revolutionary forces of Laos, contributing to the glorious victories of both the Vietnamese and Lao peoples. In peacetime, people-to-people diplomacy with meaningful and practical activities continues to strengthen the traditional, special, loyal, and enduring Vietnam-Laos relationship.

A delegation from the Son La provincial Department of Public Security led by its Deputy Director Colonel Vi Quyen Chu on December 19 visited and had a working session with its counterpart of Laos’ Bokeo province. Son La province is offering military medicine and technical training for officers and soldiers from the Military Commands of nine Lao provinces from September 23-28.

The Vietnam - Laos Friendship Military-Civilian Medical Station at the Long Sap Border Gate Border Guard Station in Moc Chau district has recently received four Lao children poisoned by wild mushrooms.

The Son La Music, Song and Dance Theater is a professional art unit in the province. Besides performing at local political events, it also engages in diplomatic and cultural exchanges through various programmes and events, enhancing the special and enduring friendship between Vietnam and Laos.
