Son La prepares for Long Sap-Pahang international border gate inauguration

Trang Thi Xuan, member of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the provincial People's Committee, on November 12 chaired a meeting to prepare for the inauguration ceremony of the Long Sap (Son La) – Pahang (Houaphanh) International Border Gates.

The national-scale ceremony will be co-hosted by Son La province of Vietnam and Laos’ Houaphanh province on November 19 at border marker 255 under the management of the Long Sap Border Gate Guard Station in Moc Chau district.

The event will feature an art programme, the announcement of the Government resolution on the establishment of the border gate pair, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, the demonstration of immigration and import-export activities, and the display and promotion of OCOP (One Commune One Product) items and safe agricultural products.

In her speech at the meeting, Xuan said that the organisation of the ceremony aims to promote international cooperation and intensive, rapid and sustainable economic integration; as well as enhance defence, security and border diplomacy.

She asked relevant units to closely coordinate with the Houaphanh side to successfully organising the event.
