Over the course of five days (December 16-20), 80 Lao officers will be trained on basic operational procedures, basic investigations across five areas of the Vietnam People’s Police force in drug prevention and control; techniques and tactics in combating and investigating drug-related crimes; the state of drug addiction, the identification of addiction conditions, the management of addicts and drug users, and post-rehabilitation management; drug testing; and drug prevention and control of border guards. During the training, the trainees will also have the opportunity to visit local areas and exchange anti-drug experience.
This event is a chance for the Lao officers to gain in-depth knowledge, combined with practical experience in drug crime prevention and control from the Son La provincial Department of Public Security and the provincial Border Guard Command.
