Five political commissars from Regiment 754 took part in the contest for outstanding political lecturers. Each competed in three segments: lesson preparation; teaching practice combined with handling pedagogical situations during the lecture; and general knowledge.

In the lesson preparation segment, contestants developed one topic from the unit’s 2026 political education programme tailored to the target audience. In the teaching practice part, they delivered one to two sections of their prepared lecture as assigned by the judging panel.

In the knowledge segment, contestants completed two components. The organising committee prepared a question bank, from which each contestant drew one multiple-choice test and one scenario-based question on handling soldiers’ ideological situations. The multiple-choice test focused on core issues in political education work at units today.

The scenario-based component was based on the document “Signs for identifying groups of disciplinary violations, safety risks and abnormal psychological behaviour, and suggested handling measures for grassroots officers in potential ideological situations” issued by the Department of Information and Education under the General Department of Politics.

The questions were directly related to the presentations, with additional elements to assess the rapporteurs’ knowledge and skills.
