Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Cong works with relevant units to accelerate the land clearance progress for the 220kV-500kV Son La - Dien Bien power line project.

The power line passes through Son La and Dien Bien provinces with a length of approximately 132.6 km. In Son La, the project includes 67.3 km of power line, comprising 159 poles, running through six communes: Muong La, Muong Khieng, Chieng La, Thuan Chau, Binh Thuan, and Muong E. To date, the People's Committees of the communes have approved the compensation plan and mobilised payments for 126 out of 159 locations; and one commune has handed over the power line corridor.

During the project implementation, some obstacles have been encountered. The communes are facing difficulties in the determination of specific land prices to serve as a basis for preparing compensation and support plans for land recovery and clearance for the project. There are many locations where people are cultivating agricultural land that has been granted forestry land use rights certificates, leading to disagreements over compensation.

Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Cong addresses the meeting.

In his concluding remarks, Vice Chairman Cong urged departments, localities, and investors to continue to enhance their sense of responsibility, strengthen coordination, and focus on resolving all arising obstacles. He highlighted the importance of accelerating the land clearance process to ensure the handover of the remaining pole foundations is completed before April 15; increasing manpower, vehicles, and specialised equipment to speed up construction progress, striving to put the project into operation by June 30 as planned.
