Heroic spirit displayed at military enlistment ceremony at Tay Bac Square

The Area 3 – Mai Son Defence Command’ enlistment point No. 1 held the 2026 military handover and enlistment ceremony at Tay Bac Square, To Hieu ward on March 6.

Attending the event were Major General Nguyen Anh Ngoc, Deputy Commander of Military Region 2; Lo Minh Hung, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Council; leaders of the provincial Military Command, military commands of communes and wards, receiving units, and a large number of local residents from 12 communes and wards in the area.

This year, communes and wards in the recruitment area selected 377 outstanding young people to join the armed forces, including 255 citizens performing military service and 122 citizens serving in the People’s Public Security forces.

The recruitment and enlistment process was implemented seriously, strictly, and in accordance with regulations. All enlisted citizens met the required standards in health, political qualities, and educational level (from secondary school). Notably, many citizens voluntarily submitted applications to join military service. The recruits were handed over to units including Division 316, the provincial Border Guard Command, Regiment 754, and the provincial Department of Public Security.

To encourage young people before their departure for military service, Party committees, authorities, and mass organisations organised various visits and gift-giving activities, helping boost morale and enabling the recruits to confidently and enthusiastically carry out their duties.

Speaking at the ceremony, Hung praised the sense of responsibility demonstrated by all levels and sectors in the recruitment work. He requested receiving units to continue paying attention to the reception, management, education, training, and development of the recruits; to create favourable conditions for new soldiers to quickly adapt to the military environment and to study and train in a disciplined, united, and standardised setting; and to continuously improve their political steadfastness, moral qualities, military skills, and professional competence.

He also expressed his hope that the recruits would uphold the revolutionary traditions of their homeland, strive to study and train diligently, strictly observe military discipline and unit regulations, and successfully fulfill all assigned tasks, thereby contributing to the firm protection and construction of the Fatherland.

Prior to the enlistment ceremony, the Standing Boards of the Party Committees, People’s Councils, People’s Committees, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of the 12 communes and wards under the Area 3 – Mai Son Defence Command’s enlistment point No. 1, together with the 377 recruits, offered flowers at the monument “Uncle Ho with the Ethnic Groups of the Northwest.

In a solemn atmosphere, leaders of the communes and wards and the recruits expressed their deep respect and boundless gratitude for the great contributions of President Ho Chi Minh (lovingly called Uncle Ho), the beloved leader of the nation who devoted his entire life to the revolutionary cause and national liberation.

Remembering his famous words, “The Hung Kings founded the country; we must together protect it,” the 377 recruits pledged to continue promoting the revolutionary tradition, steadfastly following the revolutionary path chosen by the Party and President Ho Chi Minh, striving to study and train to become revolutionary soldiers, determined to excellently fulfill the tasks assigned by the Party, the army, and the people, and contributing to building the Vietnam People's Army and the People's Public Security into regular, elite, and modern forces capable of meeting the requirements and tasks in the new era.
