Joyful military enlistment ceremony held in Song Ma border area

The Area 2 – Song Ma Defence Command held the 2026 military enlistment and handover ceremony at February 3 Square in Song Ma commune on March 6. Attending the event were Major General To Quang Hanh, Deputy Chief of Staff of Military Region 2, and Cha A Cua, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and President of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.

Also attending the ceremony were representatives of Military Region 2, members of the provincial Military Service Council, the provincial Military Command, the provincial Department of Public Security, the Area 2 – Song Ma Defence Command, leaders of the military commands and public security forces of 13 communes in the area, representatives of receiving military units, the new recruits and their relatives, and a large number of local residents.

The Area 2 – Song Ma Defence Command proactively advised and directed the 13 communes in the area to establish Military Service Councils and issue documents to implement the 2026 military recruitment work. After screening and preliminary selection at the grassroots level, 309 recruits meeting the required standards in political qualities, educational level, and health were selected. Among them, 215 citizens will perform military service and 94 citizens will perform service in the People’s Public Security forces.

The new recruits will be handed over to Regiment 82, Division 355 (Military Region 2), the provincial Border Guard Command, and the provincial Department of Public Security. The recruitment process was conducted strictly in accordance with regulations, ensuring quality and sufficient human resources for the task of safeguarding the Fatherland.

Speaking at the ceremony, Cha A Cua expressed his hope that the new recruits would uphold the traditions of their homeland and the spirit of youth, overcome difficulties, strive to train and improve themselves, and successfully fulfill the assigned tasks, contributing to the building and protection of the Fatherland. He also requested local Party committees and authorities to effectively implement policies supporting military families, pay close attention to the living conditions of recruits’ families, and strengthen education of patriotic tradition for the younger generation to create a solid foundation for recruitment work in the coming years.

Prior to the enlistment day, Party committees, local authorities, and mass organisations in the 13 communes presented gifts to the recruits, strengthening their determination and helping them confidently begin their military service while continuing to uphold the proud traditions of their homeland.
