Leaders attend military handover and enlistment ceremony in Moc Chau ward

Son La province on March 6 held the 2026 military handover and enlistment ceremony to see off young people as they set out to fulfill the sacred duty of defending the Fatherland. A total of 1,995 citizens have been called up, including 1,400 for military service and 595 for service in the People’s Public Security forces.

The ceremony was held simultaneously at seven locations in the communes and wards of Muong La, Thuan Chau, Song Ma, Chieng Coi, Phu Yen, Yen Chau and Moc Chau. This is the first year the recruitment under the two-tier local administration model has been implemented.

At military handover and enlistment point No. 1, 324 outstanding citizens from ethnic communities in Moc Chau, Moc Son, Van Son, Thao Nguyen, Doan Ket, Long Sap, Chieng Son, Tan Yen, Van Ho, Song Khua, To Mua and Xuan Nha set off to perform their service in the military and People’s Public Security forces.

The receiving units include Division 316 (Military Region 2); the Border Guard Training Centre under the Border Guard Command; the provincial Border Guard Command; Regiment 754 under the provincial Military Command; and the provincial Department of Public Security. The recruitment process was carried out strictly in accordance with regulations. All recruits met the required standards in political qualities, educational level and health, ensuring they are fully qualified to enlist and defend the Fatherland.

Speaking at the ceremony, Secretary Nghiem praised the efforts of military service councils at all levels for strictly implementing the procedures for selecting and calling up citizens for military service in 2026. He also asked receiving units to continue monitoring, educating and training the recruits so they soon become outstanding soldiers, while Party committees and authorities of communes and wards should continue implementing policies supporting their families.

He wished the 324 young people embarking on their new journey to remain steadfast in their belief, strong in mettle and successfully fulfill the tasks entrusted to them by the Party, the State, the people and the army.
