Muong Sai is home to 12 hamlets with 1,022 households. Responding to the national target programme on new-style rural area building, since 2012, the commune has mobilised more than 85 billion VND (3.48 million USD), with over 82.4 billion VND sourced from the State budget and the remainder from the public.
The funding has been used to implement a number of projects, including three serving residential arrangement, two in transport infrastructure, seven in culture and sports, and one classroom.
Locals have also donated more than 90,000 sq.m and over 5,000 workdays to the infrastructure construction.
The commune has so far fulfilled all of the 19 criteria set for a new-style rural area, with all roads cemented or asphalted. The irrigation system has come to more than 80% of its farming land. All of the 12 hamlets have cultural houses.
The commune has 305 hectares of fruit trees, including longan, mango and pineapple. Its annual income per capital reaches 42.2 million VND. Meanwhile, all schools and health facilities have satisfied set standards. There are no temporary houses in the locality, and its poverty rate stands at 9.69%.
