At the festival, delegates and local people recalled the traditions of the Vietnam National United Front (now Vietnam Fatherland Front - VFF) (November 18, 1930 - 2024); and evaluated the position and role of the VFF in the current revolutionary cause.
Located 8 km away from the commune centre, Nam Giat has 302 households, with 1,361 people, belonging to the two ethnic groups of Mong and Thai. In recent years, locals have always promoted the spirit of solidarity, actively boosted production, and helped each other develop the economy. The number of well-off and rich households has increased year by year.
Currently, local residents are focusing on intensive cultivation on 109 hectares of tea, 95 hectares of coffee, and 146 hectares of maize. Implementing the campaign "All people unite to build new-style rural areas and civilised urban areas", the hamlet’s front work board regularly coordinates with mass organisations to encourage residents to practice a good cultural lifestyle, and civilised behaviour, eliminate bad customs, and preserve and promote the cultural identities of the ethnic groups. In 2024, the rate of cultural families reaches 87%; and 100% of households have access to clean water.
Speaking at the event, Thao requested local Party committees and authorities to focus on building the great national unity bloc; promote the studying and following of President Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle; and carry out campaigns and emulation movements such as "All people unite to build new-style rural areas and civilised urban areas", and "Join hands to eradicate temporary and dilapidated houses".
They were also asked to promote the self-management movement among local people; and encourage them to actively participate in preventing and repelling social evils; and guide households to register for the title of "Cultural Family".
On this occasion, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the district presented gifts to five reputable people and exemplary individuals of the hamlet; and granted gifts to 17 poor and near-poor households, worth 500,000 VND (19.67 USD) each, sourced from the district Fund for the Poor.
